Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College inaugurates an Eco-farm

Mangaluru, Jun 27: The Eco club ‘SRISHTI’ of St Agnes PU College, inaugurated an Eco-farm in the college on Thursday, June 27, 2019. The principal, Sr Norine D’Souza, the vice principal, Sr Janet Sequeira and the members of the eco club inaugurated the Eco-farm by planting Farmcils.

Farmcils are recycled paper pencils with seeds in it. They are the pencils that will grow plants once planted in the soil. Once the pencil is too short to use it can be used for growing plants in the soil. The lecturer, Suvasini, from the Department of Biology, addressed the students and informed them regarding the use of Eco friendly pencils and brought awareness about promoting a greener environment.



The students of Eco club were given the responsibility to look after the plants.

Lecturers from the Department of Biology, Shobha, Preema Correa, Liekitha and students of the Eco club were present for the event.
