Karkala: Mundkoor gram panchayat holds first meeting

Karkala, Jun 26: The first meeting of Mundkoor gram panchayat, Belman was chaired by panchayat president Shubha P Shetty. Nodal officer, horticulture department officer Ramesh Ullagaddi gave details of agriculture Samman scheme and ground level.

Village accountant Sukhesh asked for details on natural calamities and asked people in Mundkoor to contact panchayat PDO and people in Mulladka to meet him.

Sathyashanker Shetty said that PDO should take action against plastic menace. Sacheripete primary health medical officer Dr Fauzia informed about eye camps in Inna and Sacharipete and use of Ayushman card. Panchayat member Raghuveer Shenoy gave details on card for differently abled and Sathyashanker Shetty spoke about cleanliness drive.

Panchayat vice president Ravindra Shetty said that Indira nagar- Patla road will be repaired after monsoons at a cost of Rs 10 lac.

Karkala rural police station officer Sampa Shetty asked to clean road at curves, maintain proper records of vehicles, wear helmets and cooperate with police department.

Forest department official said that saplings will be provided to the needy on production of documents. Education department official Chandrakanth D’Sa informed of the arrival of school text books on time.

Retired village accountant Avil D’ Souza said that CC Camera does not function at Mundkoor – Jarigekatte circle and people are unaware of Krishi Samman scheme. Joseph Menezes, Lokesh and Prabhaker Shetty joined their voices.

Panchayat officials were present. Panchayat development officer Shashidhar Acharya compered the meeting.
