Veerappa Moily and I were in the same class for four years in Govenment College.
Then he was for Law and Order. Now he has not joined BJP. Thank God for that.

Law is his passion. He has put politics on the back burner. I wish him well.

Congress lumanaries, who have lost elections, have lost power n glory too... but being professionals, they will certainly go back to their field of expertise... Rahul Gandhi, scenario is awkward, his education credentials are hazy, he has never ever worked in his entire life....his skills are highly suspect !! likewise his close family has similar liabilities.... They have been living a lavish life, on tax payers, hard earned income for ages !!!!!!

He would have done this long time before and Congress would be benefited then.
These High Command Reporting Oldies never allowed younger, ground level hard working, committed leaders to come up inside party because of their insecurity.
That's why today Congress weakened not only in D.K or Udupi but all over the country.

Happy to see that Moily is going back to his own profession, he would have done this very long back.
Believe, all doors are closed for him in Congress now. He is the one who ruined Congress in Karnataka & Andra Pradesh.

There should be compulsory retirement after 60 years of age in each & every profession. Because of these people there is unemployment in the country, they cry every second that there is unemployment, But their intention is that they only need to prosper in every professiion by not giving scope to others to prosper.

    People,

Moily was practicing law in Karkala prior to 1972 when he was elected MLA for the first time....

He was a Sunday lawyer ( Lawyer without business) in Karkala....

Once late Bhaskar Shetty , former Kaup MLA told me ....Devraj Urs sent him to Karkala to persuade then famous lawyer from Karkala late VV Upadhtyaya to contest as CONgress candidate in 1972 against Bola Raghuram Shetty, sitting Jan Sangh MLA of Karkala then...

VV Upadhyaya declined...when Shetty asked him to suggest a candidate he told Shetty " We have a Sunday lawyer ( Lawyer without Clients) called Veerappa , try him"...Rest is history...So its a full circle now after 47 years....

    ...Tak...Takk...

Your information is wrong. Moily was a practicing lawyer in Karkala prior to 1972 is correct. However, the congress ticket for the MLA was offered to Late Nazeer Ahmed of Salmara Karkala. Moily was staying in a rented house belonging to late Nazeer Ahmed who was a congressmen but never showed interest in Political career. Since he was a qualified Lawyer then, Late Nazeer Ahmed suggested to Congress state high command Moily's name. And rest is history.

I fully agree that Veerappa Moily was a sunday lawyer. I had the privilege of referring of Moily's books which were with an advocate who was his clerk when he was practicing.

Moily became popular during land reforms as he helped the poor people. Some of the senior lawyers in karkala still remember the mess he was creating while arguing the cases.

From the position of MLA he rose to the position of Chief Minister and Central Minister, but he didnt do any developments in the karkala Constituency or in the village he as born and brought up. His elderly mother was living with his brother who had a old bus in 1980s by the name "Priya travels"

I would have been happy if he resumed his practice in karkala court.
