Mangaluru: St Aloysius Gonzaga School holds investiture ceremony

Mangaluru, Jun 25: St Aloysius Gonzaga School, held its most awaited ‘Investiture Ceremony’ for the academic year 2019-20 on Tuesday, June 25.

Lt Col Gracian Sequeira, administrative officer, 18 Karnataka Battalion NCC Mangaluru, Dakshina Kannada, was the chief guest. He was accompanied on the stage by Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, principal and Jacintha D’costa, vice principal of St Aloysius Gonzaga School.

Lt Col Gracian Sequeira congratulated the students and highlighted the qualities of a successful leader. He admonished them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties. He also reminded them to be respectful towards their parents and teachers. Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ, in his presidential address highlighted the purpose of student council and to inculcate the value of service towards the school. He advised them to be role modelswhich would contributein the smooth functioning of the school.



The event began with a formal procession of the new council members, led by the school head boy Noel Binoy and the head girl Nichol Ria Saldanha of Grade 10. The school choir led the gathering into prayer followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. The student council members were then conferred with sashes and badges by the chief guest, principal and vice principal. Principal administered the oath to the new office bearers. The newly elected leaders pledged to uphold the dignity and honour of the school at all times.
