Kundapur: Shanta Gopalakrishna elected Koteshwar GP president

Kundapur, Jun 25: BJP supported Shanta Gopalakrishna was elected president of Koteshwar gram panchayat unopposed as hers was the only nomination submitted.

The election for the position that remained vacant after no confidence motion against former president Janaki Billava was held on June 24. Shanta Gopalakrishna who was the aspirant in the panchayat with the strength of 26 members had submitted her nomination. Nineteen members including a congress supported member were present on the occasion.

Kundapur tahsildar Tippeswamy was the election officer.



Zilla panchayat member Laxmimanju Billava, Kundapur block BJP president Suresh Shetty Kadoor, chief secretary Shanker Ankadakatte, taluk panchayat member Roopa Pai, Markodu Sudhir Kumar Shetty and Manju Billava have congratulated the newly elected president.
