Mangaluru: State govt to introduce Green Building Policy – U T Khader

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Jun 25: District in-charge minister U T Khader on Monday, June 24 said that the state government is looking forward to introduce Green Building Policy to be implemented during construction of buildings and houses within city limits.

Addressing media Khader said, "The draft copy of the policy has been filed. The policy will be introduced soon. In the new policy, there is a special mention on the measures to be taken while constructing buildings and houses. Measures such as energy saving solar system, water harvesting, environment-friendly facilities and protecting heritage are mentioned in the policy,”

“There are guidelines on cleanliness too in the policy. Everyone is interested in water harvesting, but without knowing about whom to approach for the same. Even while obtaining licence, builders should mention about rain water harvesting agency,” he added.

“If any kind of violation is reported, strict action will be taken against them. As per new policy, buildings need to be environment-friendly. Waste management will be done efficiently due to this policy,” said Khader.

When asked about dengue reported at Gujjarakere, Khader said, "We have discussed about this in the review meeting. People and the health department needs to be alert,”

When queried about illegal cattle trafficking, Khader said, "If illegal cattle trafficking takes place, stringent action should be taken. No one should support the illegal activity. Amendment has to be made to the existing laws and should be implemented in the country to ensure strict action against illegal cattle trafficking.”

Make Sewage Treatment Plants compulsory for the Appartment Buildings. You can easily recycle the water for flushing and gardening standard's.

Easily 80% of the water can be recycled and reduce the burden on fresh water.
