New Delhi, Jun 24 (IANS): The Delhi government on Monday gave its nod to the Centre's request to convert the state's government school at in the Presidential estate into a Kendriya Vidyalaya.

It is the same school where then President Pranab Mukherjee appeared as a teacher on Teacher's Day for two consecutive years on the request of Delhi Education Minister Manish Sisodia.

The Dr. Rajendra Prasad Sarvodaya Vidyalaya, running inside the Presidential Estate, was set-up in 1946 by the then Education Department of the Central government.

In 1962, the school's administration of the school was handed over to Delhi's Directorate of Education.
