Udupi, Jun 23: In a scary incident that occurred near the Indrali railway bridge in city on June 22, a Honda Activa scooter that was in motion suddenly caught fire.
It is suspected that some electrical short circuit in the vehicle might have caused this fire.
Shankar, a resident of Manipal, was going towards his home on the scooter of his friend. As soon as he reached Indrali railway bridge, the noticed fire in the vehicle. Shankar immediately stopped the two-wheeler and tried to extinguish the fire, but the flames of the fire kept on increasing and the scooter was totally gutted in fire.
There is also a possibility that due to rain, a short circuit might have occurred in the electrical wiring of the vehicle.
A case stands registered at Udupi city police station.
