Chikkaballapur: Coalition with JD(S) reason for Congress’ loss in Lok Sabha polls - Veerappa Moily

Daijiworld Media Network – Chikkaballapur (EP)

Chikkaballapur, Jun 22: Former minister Veerappa Moily has joined his voice to the opinion of several Congress leaders that the coalition agreement was the cause of Congress’ loss in Lok Sabha elections. “Several Congress leaders had said that Congress faced setback because of coalition with JDS and Congress would have won at least ten seats,” he said. Veerappa Moily said that the party would have won at least fifteen seats if it had contested independently without partnering JD(S).

He said, “There was no overview of the reasons for the debacle after elections. People had a feeling that the government has not responded towards their problems. It is one of the reasons why the coalition parties did not get support.

“Maintaining the government has become hard now. Party is not organized. If Rahul Gandhi wants to resign, let him resign. But the high command has become weak. Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda had said that mid-term elections may be held anytime. The statement gave rise to several speculations. Deve gowda had clarified that evening that he was referring to elections of local bodies. Deve Gowda changes his statements the way he likes. He makes different, controversial statements each time.

“It adversely affects the coalition government. Members of Congress do not speak like that. None of the MLAs are prepared to face elections now. Nobody is confident of winning.

“BJP is trying to destabilise the government. Yeddyurappa is dreaming of becoming the chief minister again. He is day dreaming. Nobody is thinking of leaving Congress party,” he said.

I can understand your pain mr. Moily, so sad. What to do? Past is past.
Had you contested in DK or Udupi you would have lost your deposit as well. So, take a right decision now. It is the time for your retirement. Yes, one more thing- don’t project your son into politics.

When you only have lost your base and have to run elsewhere like your
Former President to contest ...then the writing is on the wall...
You somehow managed at Chickballapur to be a minister once ...but now your luck has run out !
Now i don't think you can get even five thousand votes in Karkala which made you a CM once ....
Your analysis is just time pass.
Congress has reached a point if no return everywhere
The likes of you must make way for honest energetic faces.

Actually JD(S) lost Mandya/Tumkur because of Congress. If congreess fielded their Candidates here and should there be no alliance JD(S) would have won more than 1 lac each in mandya/Tumkur. Its because of backstabbing JD(S) lost in both these places.
In Other consituencies JD(S) had no presence and so congress lost on account of its own Faults and its foolish to pass blame on JD(S). margins Congress lost was too Huge .
I was In Bangalore During elections.I spoke to few people and they said congress Performance was totally disappointing and people said most of them show their Face only during Elections only! Many of them said these MPS are never reachable to public .

One notable factor is that, all over India BJP fielded numerous new faces. Congres party and JDS party gave tickets to their children. Sufficient reason to loose.
