Bengaluru: Couple enjoying weekend falls down from upper floor of pub, dies

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 22: In a shocking incident which happened in front of the eyes of the city police commissioner, Alok Kumar, a couple engaged in celebrating the week end fell down from the upper floor of a pub and lost their lives. They have been identified as Veda and Pawan Attavar and the place where the accident took place is Ash Beer Pub. The accident happened on the night of Friday, June 21.

When the above two persons were having fun at the pub, police commissioner, Alok Kumar, had arrived at the pub for the night rounds. At that time, Veda and Pawan, who were in a drunk state, fought with each other on some issue and fell down together to their doom.

A number of citizens had recently brought to the notice of the court that several pubs are being run in plush localities of the city without permission, where DJ and sound systems are used with impunity. Many citizens had complained of noise pollution created by these pubs.

The state high court, which had taken up the petition, had expressed its resentment at the police inaction. It had directed the police to take strong steps against unauthorized pubs and to file a report by June 26.

In compliance of the high court directions, city police commissioner Alok Kumar, had raided unauthorized pubs on Friday night. Even as the raid was in progress, in a shocking development, the couple fell down from the upper floor of the pub.

A case relating to this incident was registered in Cubbon Park police station.

Human being are gifted with intelligence and they are expected to know what is good and bad for their life. We do not need to ban or restrict; but educate people to accept the best. Society living is to be understood well by people. This is missing. What a shame that we do not care to serve the society in a moral way just for the sake of money - we have to deploy police to dislodge these miscreants causing harm to the society.

Shankar, Mangaluru, you are right. We are served with entertainment piece of information. As you said, since the narration comes from the police department, people might believe the story with no questions asked. We have our doubt.

I have noticed that many of the pubs in bangalore have a no smoking section which is a balcony sort of area which can be quite dangerous after a few drinks.

RIP, Veda and Pawan Attar. The exact cause of this couple falling from upper floor of a pub will be known after a full investigation is complete. It is strange.

I don't think there should be any necessity to investigate this matter any more. The Police Commissioner, Alok Kumar is an eye witness. The couple was so inebriated, argued, fought with each other, and as a result of which lost their balance and fell down together to their doom from upper floor of pub.

Here there are 2 culprits apart from the couple who lost their lives. First, the builder who has not taken care of safety norms including balcony. If the balcony height would have been 4 feet, at least this couple could have saved their lives, unless they jump from the balcony. Secondly, the bar owner also equally responsible for not adhering to the safety norms to protect their customer from any dangers.

Hope, the dead couples have not suffered before death. RIP to both of them.
