Almost same thing happened today at Kulai traffic signal. A policeman stopped a scooterist with pillion rider on the move, risking his own life for not wearing helmets. Rider tried to escape by giving full throttle to engine, but Policeman could get him on his control.
    I request concerned authorities to confiscate the DL and also that 2 wheeler;
Most of the youngsters immediately remove both the rear mirrors of the two wheeler after the purchase. Having rear view mirror as a IMVR rule, lowers the risk of accidents when overtaking, changing the lane etc. Also request the authority to penalise for not having the rear view mirrors.

Driving is a privilege, not the right!

Near Kuttar I have seen a policeman trying to stop a boy on Honda Dio without helmet and the boy doesn't even care and brushes the policeman and goes away.
Policeman calls him "BO*I maga", the boy responds immediately "ninn appa b*li maga".

This is very common scene near thokottu area. People ride 2 wheelers like rocket. Police checking should be done strictly in this perimeter.

Police Commissioner did a good job.
Also, Police need to address everyone with respect using the word SIR/Madam, as it is done in Europe, America and elsewhere. We are not criminals but employers of these officers.
The citizens are to be educated to respect the police and police need not enter into argument with the law breakers, just issue a ticket for the offense. Every evening publish the list of offenders and fine imposed without waiting big bosses to intervene.
If this offender is influential, by this evening he will continue riding bike without helmet.
    Police, be respectful and tough.

No registration plate too. Many bikes around Mangalore are going around without registration plates. The police need to take strict action against offenders in this regard.

Let there be fir for assaulting cop on duty. It should be linked to passport and other related departments. Many of these guys have gulf dream. Once there is a criminal case, think 100 times before assaulting anyone. And in ullal, its no surprise at all!

Thokkotu and Ullal have their own traffic rules. They don’t follow Govt rules. You can see Three people on a single scooter without helmet coming in opposite direction in front of traffic police.

What about four wheeler drivers talking on mobile phone while driving.? The tinted glass of cars the police not interested in nabbing the violators. We also find so many cars parked on footpath obstructing pedestrians using the footpath. What about trucks carrying mud/earth and the spilling on the roads causing a problem to everyone?

There are many issues in the society. What you have written is 100% right. I too ride a two wheeler and we are very easy target for the traffic policemen. They speak to two-wheeler riders as if we are Kajavu.
four wheeler owners do not give a damn to these guys. The whole lane from big bazaar to kapikad petrol pump is blocked due to parking of cars on both sides. Traffic police have no issues. But if you park a scooter in the same spot, it will be towed.
But I always take panga with them, if they are offending.
Most of the traffic cops are gowdas and does not have decency while speaking

Dylan you are right but in the meantime what Azar did is also very wrong... If everyone behaves likes this Azar, what's the meaning of safety and law. ?? Let police do his duty but as riders, let us ride for our safety not for the safety of policeman or any other...

Whether it is an Indian cricket player wearing non-permitted emblems on his uniform...

... or a two-wheeler rider not wearing a helmet for his own protection -

Indian attitude towards rules is the same.

And people want to make India a US$5 trillion economy.

But with the attitude of its people, will India ever be a developed nation?

Yesterday, a biker with 2 pillions (Triple ride)without any helmet cut me across suddenly under the Thokottu flyover, where I had to do panick braking. I was coming back from Kuttar to Mangalore. Those bikers were also heading towards Mangalore.
I lost my cool and tried to chase them and finally found them near Jeppu mogeru and went too close to them and Honked like a mad person and scared the shit out of them and cornered them to the footpath and took my revenge.
I wouldn’t have minded knocking them off the bike because that was the level of madness I had because of their Mavali behavior.

That is the way to deal with people like this. Can’t wait for police every time.
It has to happen in the heat of the moment.
