Mangaluru, Jun 20: The CCB police and Economic and Narcotic station police, in a joint operation, arrested a person, who was trying to sell cocaine to the general public of the city.

Thé CCB police who acted on definite information that a person is buying the banned Cocaine from Mumbai and selling the same in the city arrested Monish (36), a resident of Devi Shree, Datta Prasad Layout, Sultan Bathery Road, Boloor in the city on Thursday, June 20.

The cops confiscated 16 grams of cocaine, worth Rs 1,60,000 from the arrested accused. In addition, the police have also confiscated two mobile phones, a digital weighing scale and one Honda Activa scooter. The total value of the confiscated goods is said to be Rs 2,81,500. It is suspected that more people are involved in this racket and further investigation is in progress.

A case in this regard is registered at the Economic and Narcotic police station. This operation was conducted under the guidance of police commissioner Sandeep Patil, DCP law and order and Laxmi Ganesh, crime and traffic. Shivaprakash R Naik, inspector CCB unit, Ramakrishna, inspector of Economic and Narcotic police station, Kabbal Raj and Shankari Nayari, PSIs and other personnel took part in the operation.
