Mangaluru: Alka Anto awarded PhD in French

Mangaluru, Jun 20: In a unique achievement, Alka Anto from the city has successfully completed her doctoral studies in the field of teaching French as a foreign language. She has been awarded PhD by Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai for her thesis ‘Teaching of French in Hotel Management Schools of Karnataka: Problems & Perspectives’ vide the letter from the university dated June 3.

Her research guide for the study was Dr R Sudha, professor and head, dept of French, School of Foreign Languages, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.

Alka has completed her BA in French from Loyola College, Chennai and MA in French from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.

In her career as teacher she has served colleges in Mangaluru such as St Aloysius College, St Agnes College, Mahesh PU College, and Pana Pre-university College. She is currently serving at St Agnes College and School of Social Work Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru.

Dr Alka Anto is the daughter of Anto David IRS (retd) and Dr Leela Manjooran. She is married to Dr Manuel S Thomas, associate professor, Manipal College of Dental Surgery (MCODS), here.
