Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (SP)

Udupi, Jun 19: As catchment areas of River Swarna received good rainfall, water has begun to flow into the river and the river water is also flowing towards the dam. On Tuesday, water was seen flowing easily towards Baje dam from Puthige bridge. As on Tuesday, water level at Baje dam stood at 2.7 metres.

The municipal commissioner said that with the increase of water level at Baje, a decision to resume incessant supply of water would be taken soon. Pumping process from pits inside the river ended on Monday and in all likelihood, the water supply would be resumed to full level in a few days. MLA Raghupati Bhat visited Baje dam on Tuesday and saw the increasing level of water there.

Bhat said that taking into account good inflow of water to Baje dam, a decision about resuming water supply to the full extent would be taken by Wednesday evening. He also thanked the people and activists for bearing with water shortage and working to solve it since a month.

The MLA was accompanied by BJP district secretary Praveen Kumar Shetty, municipal councillor Girish Anchan and Manuhnath Manipal and leader Ravi Ameen.
