Karwar: Mangaluru-Mumbai private bus hit by truck - Over ten injured

Karwar, Jun 14: In an accident which occurred near Hosur bridge at Ankola on Friday June 14 morning, a bus belonging to Sugama Tourist that was moving from Mangaluru to Mumbai collided with a truck. Over ten passengers of the bus sustained injuries, which are said to be of serious nature.

The lorry was bound for Mangaluru from Mumbai. Because of the impact of the collision, the front portions of both the vehicles were badly mangled. The drivers of the vehicles who were also injured, struggled as they could not come out of their vehicles. The police and locals who rushed to the spot succeeded in bringing them out after putting in lot of efforts.

The injured passengers were admitted into taluk hospitals at Kumta and Ankola. On account of this accident, traffic on national highway 66 was thrown out of gear for some time. Policemen from Ankola station reached the spot, undertook checks, and paved way for movement of vehicles without any obstacles.
