Mysuru: GDP has collapsed to all-time low during Modi rule - Siddaramaiah

Daijiworld Media Network - Mysuru (MS)

Mysuru, Jun 13: "In the five-year rule of Modi government, the issue of farmers and unemployed youth has not been resolved. In addition, the economic situation of the country has collapsed. But I am in a position wherein I cannot say the truth," said former CM Siddaramaiah.

Siddaramaiah was speaking to the reporters in the city.

He further said, "People of the country have praised the government of Modi that has ruled the country for the last five years. But the GDP has hit an all-time low. Unemployment has increased by leaps and bounds. The rupee has devalued. But people still say 'Modi Modi'. The financial situation of the country has not improved at all. They have passed time by speeches, lies and dramas,"

"It is filled in the minds of the people of this country that Narendra Modi is the only patriot and the country is going to get salvation only through him. But the fact is that the GDP has touched its lowest. We are in a difficult situation, where we cannot even say the truth. We cannot speak truth about PM Modi and Amit Shah. We cannot question the Pulwama incident. Just see the situation we are in. Can't we question these matters? They cannot reform the economy of the country," added Siddaramaiah.

Speaking on the issue of Roshan Baig saying that he has been framed in the IMA forgery case, Siddaramaiah said, “Why he is saying that with the media? He should say this with Special Investigation Team (SIT). With regards to IMA, already SIT has been formed. It will conduct detailed investigation. So I will not say anything in public with regards to the IMA case."

It is only false propoganda by Modi that has spent crores and crores of tax payers money on advertisments and falsehoods that the country and its people were unable to see the grim reality of the pathetic condition of our economy and hardships being faced by the marganilised sections of society. A growing realisation that the 2014 and 2019 elections were won by hacking the EVM's. Total failure on all fronts covered up through deciet and falsehoods.

Actually little does Raul & Siddu understand is that CONgress lost because of too much Modi abuse, frustration and hatred. People are fed up with such statements. Also, Siddu is a failed leader. He made CONgress 78 seats from 123 seats, also lost Chamundeshwari, which he was winning from last 20 years. Raul on other hand, lost Amethi, which his great grandfather, Grandmother, father, mother etc were winning from last 70 years!

Arvind Subramanian, a former Chief Economic Advisor to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, put out a working paper on Tuesday that calls into question India’s GDP figures and urges a complete re-look at India’s economic statistics. The paper says that India has over-estimated GDP growth for 2011-2017 by as much as 2.5% points and that the actual numbers are much more sobering.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's former economic advisor has rubbished India's claim to the fastest growing economy in the world - but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

But the fig leaf has slipped. Modi’s former economic adviser Arvind Subramanian last week in a working paper at Harvard concluded that the country’s growth rate was not the high seven percent as the government wanted Indians to believe, but a measly 4.5%. What this means is that, contrary to the claim that India was one of the fastest growing economies in the world, it has dropped at least 50 places down.
Economist and the leading opposition party, Congress, Member of Parliament Jairam Ramesh, writing in the Indian Express, said the Modi government claimed that a mammoth $2 billion had been saved because of a new system of transferring subsidies directly to beneficiaries. Later, when the government’s auditor, the Comptroller, and Auditor General, examined it, it brought down the savings to just under $254 million. The remaining savings had occurred due to a fall in global oil prices.

Now exposed by the economic facts, PM’s Economic Advisory Council junks Arvind Subramanian paper, plans rebuttal saying that proper methodology was followed and that experts were consulted in calculating the country’s overall economic growth estimates.
Meanwhile, the controversies over questionable data do not appear to have seeped into everyday discourse with the pro-Modi voter treating the issue either with disdain or unable to comprehend the long-term consequences of faulty figures. That, ultimately, could be the real cause for worry.

Firstly if all you said was true . Congress would not have been in the pathetic state its today. RaGA would not have fled to Wayanad. Siddu would not have been kicked out of his own home constituency and reduced to the peon of the Gowda family. There may be ups and downs, but its taken care of. The huge majority of Indians have accepted the PMs mandate. For the rest, they will have to wait for 5 more years or perhaps even 10.

Siddu time and again demonstrates that "Old habits die hard".
He is a tad late with his fundamentals of economics. This should have come atleast a quarter earlier.
Siddu has made a thin veiled admission that Roshan Baig has been framed by Congress-JDS coalition.
This clearly demonstrates that these guys do not care about the loss of poor people. Everything is part of the great political game.
