Mangaluru: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel visits areas affected by sea erosion

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (ANK)

Mangaluru, Jun 13: MP Nalin Kumar Kateel along with officials, paid visit to the areas affected by sea erosion in Uchila on Thursday, June 13.

Addressing to the media, MP Nalin said, "Rough sea over here has destroyed many houses so far. Last year, the central government had sanctioned grants for permanent solution for sea erosion. But this time around, there is a rise in sea erosion in this region. As there is no proper technical guidance, problems continue to haunt these areas. Locals are demanding permanent solution for sea erosion.

“For a permanent solution, new scientific projects have been undertaken which have not been completed due leading to sea erosion and its aftermath. Several houses have already collapsed. I have already discussed with locals as well as officials to find permanent and temporary solution for this. We will also hold meeting with the officials for the same,” he said.

Relocation is the best solution. We should go back from the sea encroached area. We have ventured into the original area of the sea and now we are complaining about sea erosion? All man given solutions will be temporary. Instead of pouring money on these solutions please provide proper relocation and let the sea be its way

How nice it would have been form someone like Mithun Rai to visit these places first and take the necessary steps . But alas, Cong wont learn. They will wake up when there are only 3 weeks for the elections and run after 'Vijaya Bank' , 'pumpwell fly over' & then resort to 'Modi bashing' .

Off late I am seeing a lot of traditional Congi supporters coming in terms with reality. I read few comments in other articles as well. This is how it has to be in a democracy. If you party or candidate has screwed it up, yes be vocal and voice it. Rather than without any proof blame the winning candidate using dubious means for victory. 'Blind slaves ' is not the order of the day. It has to be perform or perish.

A valid point . Its a good cause . But as you said, Who knows, Mithunda is least bothered. You never know. Perhaps he may be contemplating to join BJP. At the end of the day its only 'faida' and Cong is in the ICU.

Everything is unscientific, including bridges and flyobers. BC road flyover, Bikkarnakatte, Pumpwell, Thokkottu all are unscientific. India lacks Technology? Only thing is that there is no will. Politicians and ministers want to grab a big share of the capital. This fact is scientific.
