Mandya: Master stroke from Siddaramaiah – Invites Sumalatha to join Congress

Mandya, Jun 3: As Lok Sabha elections are over, former chief minister Siddaramaiah has resorted to a new move in the state politics. He is trying to woo Mandya MP Sumalatha Ambareesh to the Congress party. Sumalatha had won as an independent candidate.

Siddaramaiah has made a mega plan to give shock to JD (S) and has appealed to Sumalatha to join the Congress party. In his invitation he has said, "There are all opportunities for you to grow as a good parliamentarian if you join the Congress party. Congress will give you suitable opportunity in Lok Sabha. There is wide scope to grow in politics if you join Congress."

In addition, it is learnt that Siddaramaiah also said that late Ambareesh, husband of Sumalatha was with the Congress party. So it will be better if Sumalatha joins Congress.

Siddaramaiah also expressed his helplessness in not giving the party ticket to her in Mandya due to the pre-poll alliance agreement with JD(S). But he has promised that he will give a prominent role to her in Mandya district in coming days, if she joins Congress.

Through this move, Siddaramaiah has made the master plan to keep JD (S) at bay in Mandya and thereby facilitate the growth of the Congress party.

    I like his spirit.Every party should have such politicians.He is not Gandhian slave.He does what his mind speaks.I bet he was fully forced to shut up by other congress leaders before LS elections,just to show unity in coalition.
    But now he is reacting and saying enough is enough i can't be Gowda slave anymore.

    Sumalatha is a future asset of congress party.We need you Ma'am.

    Congress is right now recharging for the great election battle 2024,we don't care negativities ,we are party full of positive vibes. Win and lose momentary reaction, But character of party should always be best.

    suma latha is unwanted person for all political parties..because BJP does not like DNA based family heirs....moreover they have ample number, will not bother about 1 MP...in Mandya she is odd woman out because all MLAs in her constituency are from JDS ..Congress will not want her because her husband was liability to Siddharamayya....

    Mr. Siddu has no say in Ktaka politcis. He has to have the approval of Dodda Gowdru for each move.
    How can he take decessions when he is just a peon of Mrs. HDK.

    hope Sumalatha will not fall in to the trap... today she can show her back to BJP and Modi... but tomorrow these cunning people / party , any time may show ungli to Sumalatha... that's sure and then Sumalatha will be a goat , na idhar ka udhar ka... so please let her not listen to this venom personality who can do anything for money and power.... hope she will not fall in to the trap.

    Siddu thinks everyone is like him. Times have changed sir. Karma will never leave you if you done any damage to anyone for whatever gains you had planned. Why she will join a sinking party which is evident from LS election. Infact Siddu can join the party floated by Sumalatha, as soon or later there won't be a Chediless congress party. Headless chicken.

    Master stroke. Ha Ha Ha. Siddu could not save himself from Chamudeshwari , his own backyard. His Boss had to flee to Wayanad to save himself as he sure that he would be routed by Smriti Irani in five decade old family bastion Amethi. What master strokes can you expect from such people who themselves are liabilities.

    if sumalata wants to be a lambi race ka goda, then she has to join only Congress as BJP has no base at all in Mandya. this time she has won because of cross voting by Congress as well as JD (S) supporters.

    Sumalatha has two choices:

    1. If she has self respect then she will not join Cong which has betrayed her when she pleaded for ticket and had to face worst nightmare. She can continue as an independent with issue based support to BJP.

    2. If she thinks politically and want to explore political gain in Mandya given the fact that Congress has wide roots in Mandya may decide to join Congress. Congress badly needs her to attain the number required to become principal opposition party in Loksabha. But this move might damage the equation Cong has with JDS.

    In political calculations the vote share of JD(S) and Congress even though was more than the BJP share did not translate into votes for their candidates. In politics 2+2 doesnt make 4. The move of Mr Siddaramaiah to invite Ms Sumalatha is excellent. Her victory was ensured by many congress voters shifting loyalty to her because of late Mr Ambareesh who was in the congress. Ms Sumalatha should take the assurance of Mr Siddaramaiah seriously and take a call. Time will tell.

    Not suprising at all! siddu just used bjp to fight money power of gowdas. Yeddy as usual fell to the trap. If she wants to sustain in politics she has no option other than joining congress. Bjp at the max has only 80k - 1lakhs votes in mandya.

    Dear VNH Mangaluru,
    For Siddu & Congress it is master stroke. Not for Sumalatha. It will finish her and Ambareesh factor once and for all as:
    1. No guarantee that she will be INC/JDS's choice of candidate in next election.
    2. She is the gate for BJP to Mandya. But nobody from Congress wants her to be a stakeholder.
    3. INC was no fan of Ambareesh as he was self made man and did not toe the party line. The are just ensuring that it stops with him.
