Mangaluru, May 29: The government primary and high schools have opened today after summer holidays. The schools have also organized 'Prarambhotsava' as per the government's initiative to create a festive atmosphere in schools on Wednesday May 29.

Heads of several institutions had raised the issue of drinking water shortage in schools. There is no official communication from the government about allowing the children go home after the morning session in view of acute water shortage faced by educational institutions. Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Sasikanth Senthil, has said that water would be provided to them through tankers.

That's good news to know schools are reopened after summer holidays. I hope the water shortage will be solved before the schools will fully function. Children seem to very excited to be back to school. Thanks to Spoorthi Ullal and Umesh Marpalli for the photo coverage.
