Bengaluru: FIR against Kannada editor for derogatory news on Nikhil Kumaraswamy

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, May 27: A case stands registered against the editor of a Kannada daily for writing a fictitious and derogatory article on Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of chief minister H D Kumaraswamy after his loss to independent candidate Sumalatha in the Mandya Lok Sabha constituency.

Vishweshwar Bhat, the editor of Vishwavani newspaper and his staff are the ones against whom the city police have registered an FIR under various sections of IPC for cheating, criminal breach of trust and intimidation. A notice in this regard was issued by the Srirampura police station of the city to the accused.

Nikhil Kumaraswamy

As per the details given by the police, an article that appeared on May 25 said that, soon after his loss in the election to Sumalatha, Nikhil went to H D Deve Gowda, his grandfather and former PM of the country, which is located in Padmanabhanagar in a drunken state and created a chaotic situation by holding him responsible for flopping his career in politics. The article also mentioned that Nikhil abused Deve Gowda and accused him of making Nikhil lose in front of a woman in the party stronghold of Mandya.

The complaint was filed by the JD (S) secretary Pradeep Kumar SP with the Srirampura police station saying that this is just an article that was created out of thin air and there was no substance in it as nothing of that sort that is mentioned in the article has ever happened. The complaint further says that this fictitious article insulted Nikhil and in addition, defamed his family including his father who is the CM and grandfather, who is a former PM of the country.

If EVM can be hacked....he himself can be hacked as well...there is a limit to utter non-sense...

Probably the news editor will be in a fix.

Even if the incident would have happened it is difficult to produce evidence as the hotel staff and other people would be coerced by the Govt and Gowda family not to be a witness.

The only evidence that might be available would be the CCTV footage if leaked.

    This party should introspect....
    1. It's leader said that those who did not get employed elsewhere joined the Army to fill their stomach!
    2. Another leader set a 'time limit' for Sumalathaji's mourning and had said she had entered the political fray rather fast.
    3. A derogatory statement was also made against a woman farmer by the CM which was in very bad taste.
    4. One MLA ShivarameGowda in Mandya called Sumalathaji' Sundarangane'. This shameless fellow used to sit at the feet of Ambi when he was alive!!
All this were OK with the party...but not with the people who gave them a sound thrashing like never before! Now just to turn their ire against somebody they are blaming the media!
No use ...No Use....the whole country is talking of a PPP Private Political Party called the JDS ..justly shown the door by the electorate.
