Bengaluru: Sumalatha meets BJP leaders Yeddyurappa, S M Krishna, thanks party for support

Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (MS)

Bengaluru, May 26: The new MP of Mandya Lok Sabha constituency Sumalatha Ambareesh on Sunday May 26 met senior leaders of the state BJP. The party had supported her candidature in the just-concluded elections.

Sumalatha met state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa and senior BJP leader S M Krishna and offered her gratitude for their support.

Sumalatha first visited the residence of Yeddyurappa at Dollars Colony in the city and later went to S M Krishna's residence along with Yeddyurappa and R Ashok.

Sumalatha defeated Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of CM H D Kumaraswamy by a margin of 1,25,876 votes.

Speaking to the media Sumalatha said, "It is my duty to meet each and everyone who has supported me in the elections. I have an opportunity to conditionally support BJP at the centre. I will take the suggestions from the public to develop the district of Mandya and take my next step."

Asked if she would join the BJP officially, she said, "An independent MP cannot officially join any party but as the BJP backed me officially, I can extend issue-based support."

Yeddyurappa said, "As BJP extended support and also due to the fact that Modi mentioned Sumalatha's name when he had come to Mysuru, and because of the support of the people of Mandya, cutting across party lines, Sumalatha has won the election.

"Despite money and muscle power used by the chief minister, Sumalatha has scored a record victory. My congratulations to her. She can take a decision over extending support to BJP based on her discussions with her supporters," he said.

It looks clear from Yeddy's face that he will be soon replaced by a younger, more appealing face of Sumalatha. I would go on to presume that she will give up her independent MP seat and contest from BJP and officially join the party. She will probably be the next BJP chief ministerial candidate from Karnataka. Yeddy and Shoba will have to play their master card to keep her away from the seat!!

No need to thank anyone. Everybody is disoriented and looking north, south, east and west. Thank EVMs which were loaded with favourable votes and replaced by EVMs which were used during voting. VVPATs will perfectly match with these replaced EVMs.

    Hello Congress Supportes
    Good day to all!
Firstly stop blaming EVMs. EVM's are tested, inspected and approved by all the parties prior to its utilization in the poll. EVMs were also used in recent state assemby elecions in rajastan, madhya pradesh and many other states where congress had taken the lead n formed the govt. Even in 2019 Lok sabha such as kerala tamil nadu punjab where congress have no issues in evm's.
But wherever congress lost they have an issue in EVM's.
Com on guys, Be mature and accept the defeat. Introspect where you failed in forming stratergy?. Or else if you want to keep blaming EVM's hereafter then people of this great nation are too intelligent, Dont be surprised that congress will not even give close fight to BJP in 2024 election either.

Note :indian EVM systems which is used for largest democracy in the world. Based on its success rate, Developed nation are introducing the same globally.

So Analyse, form new stratergy, Encourage new leaders,Highlight the core issue of the country and work hard to be a strong party with great vision

    PEACE LOVER -Jai Hind
