Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, May 21: In a strange incident which happened at a marriage hall near Badiadka on Sunday May 19, a wedding function was abruptly cancelled midway as the bride chose her lover as life partner over the groom with whom her marriage was about to be solemnized.

When the groom was about to tie the customary 'Taali' to signify final seal of approval for the marriage with the blessings of elders, the bride's lover came there with a team of friends, stopped the marriage, and informed the concerned that he was in love with the girl. He asked to be allowed to marry the girl. Those who were at the hall stopped the stranger, which gave rise to a melee at the hall. This incident happened at Vishnumurthy Kalyana Mantap at Neerchal in the district.

The Badiadka police who came to know about the incident, took the groom, bride, and the youth who claimed himself to be her lover, to the police station. During the parleys held there, the bride preferred to go with her lover. Although the police personnel and relatives tried to convince her to cool down, take considerate view and marry the boy with whom her marriage had already been fixed, she did not relent. At the end, the concerned agreed to allow the girl to go with her lover. The dispute ended, and relatives returned home.

The groom was from Nellikatte Ajekkodu. The girl is from Choyimoole near Kanneppady. Their engagement had been held some days back. The lover succeeded in snatching away his lover at the nick of the moment in the middle of the marriage ceremony. As no written complaint was lodged, the police have not registered any case, it is gathered.

Imagine the same lover keeping in touch with the bride and the groom comes to know after five years of marriage when they have a kid. Nothing will happen even if the groom files complaint on the bride. whereas she can get away just by filing false cases of harassment, domestic violence, torture, etc. When the law can not give justice to the married men when they encounter such scenarios in their life what about this case where it's just love and not even documented.

I say, if you are not married yet, wait until your girlfriend turns 40 to tie the knot.

No hassle, no dramas. Or, at least, much less hassle and far fewer dramas.

Groom is the victim here. His dreams, his hope, his respect towards girls along with any money and time he spent on, will all be shattered. Therefore it is a crime. Usually it happens only with boys or girls who are generally sincere and honest.

It was not necessary and easily avoidable. There should be a law to make sure there must be some jail terms and fines legally to avoid intentional damages of such nature.

All is good.Lover married his choice just in time to avoid a tumult and cry and big shameful moments for all.why did the bride kept quite till last minute? She should have told parents before this .Or parents were not aware or not wanted to know her her affair? Now when both parties are understand with each other without cast and religion barrier, then wish them a happy married life, parents too are probably happy .

Girl should be punished and should never be allowed to marry another boy.
Who knows one day she will come up with one more ex lover.

Kudos to the 'Boy' who let go without even a complaint. Imagine his and his family's plight..

Avoidable tamasha by the 'Bride'? ...who could have spared everyone the agony by disclosing facts at the outset... She should have thought of her parent's plight...
