Shah to meet NDA leaders, host dinner on May 21

New Delhi, May 20 (IANS) Buoyed by the exit poll predictions, BJP President Amit Shah has convened a meeting of the leaders of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on May 21, ahead of the counting of votes on May 23.

Sources in the Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) said that Shah is likely to host a dinner for the NDA leaders and would chalk out alliance's strategy.

Twelve of 14 exit polls predicted the NDA getting full majority with seats ranging seats from 282 to 365. A party or an alliance needs 271 seats to form the government as Lok Sabha elections were held on 542 of the 543 seats.

The exit polls predicted the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance getting 82 to 165 seats. Six exit polls predicted that 'other' parties were likely to get more seats than the the UPA.

The last supper for Amit Shah before he winds up the BJP from the political map of India.

The 23rd results will prove that the landslide mandate that BJP got in 2014 will be non existent this time around. The BJP alone got 282 seats in 2014. What the exit polls of 2019 by the paid media channels are broadcasting are the overall results of the NDA with anything between 250-310. So obviously the seats that the BJP will be winning will be consideranbly reduced and to make up for this loss of seats by the BJP the paid media channels are touting the NDA seats as that of the BJP and indirectly trying to prop up the dwindling fortunes of Modi and the BJP..

Modi has become a liability for the BJP and the country. If the BJP has to reinvent herself then the duo of Modi and Amit Shah will be eased out to get the support of fence sitters like Jagan. Naveen Patnaik and Chanrda Babu. So all this hype about Modi wave in these exit polls are only to give an image boost to Modi and in trying to save Modi and Amit Shah's face over the inherent losses being suffered by the BJP in these elections.
