Bengaluru: Blast near MLA Munirathna’s house, one dead

Bengaluru, May 19: A blast has taken place near the house of MLA Munirathna at Rajarajeshwari Nagar in the city on the morning of Sunday, May 19. The body of a person who was walking near the blast was blown to pieces due to the intensity of the explosion.

It is learnt that the unfortunate victim of this explosion is Venkatesh (45). He was residing with his family at Vayyalikaval Dhobighat. Venkatesh and his daughter used to do household work in the house of MLA Munirathna. Venkatesh was wallking around 10 am in front of MLA Munirathna’s house when suddenly a blast has occurred from a suspicious object. Even the mobile of the deceased has blown to pieces. The door and wall of a house, near the spot of the explosion, developed cracks and collapsed.


Police near the site of explosion

Vayyalikaval police have visited the spot and are conducting the spot inspection. DCP Devaraj and Commissioner Sunil Kumar have also arrived to the spot. It is said that the explosion took place at the car parking which is in front of MLA Munirathna’s house.

The house of Munirathna is located on the 11th B Cross of Vayyalikaval. The people in the locality got stunned by the sound of the explosion. The family of MLA also got shocked by the huge deafening noise of the blast. The neck and hands of deceased Venkatesh's body got separated in the explosion.

It is not yet known what caused the explosion. Bomb diffusion squad and FSL team also arrived on the spot.
