Mumbai, May 12: Manager of a hair studio here ended his life, allegedly having been unable to bear the agony on seeing his lover in the company of another man.

The victim has been identified as Shobhit Singh. His mortal remains were found from Matheran hills. The Amboli police have registered suicide case relating to the incident. Although Singh ended his life on April 30, the incident became public knowledge with lot of delay.

Shobhit, who went missing on April 13, had sent a message to his friend, Pankaj Chauhan, expressing his decision to commit suicide. Singh along with colleague, Mikhael Chandramani, filed a missing report in Amboli police station immediately.

In his suicide message, Singh claimed that his lover and two other persons had been harassing him frequently. He said that he was also disheartened and dismayed at having been threatened by them to file rape case against him.

Chandramani said that immediately after receiving message from friend, Pankaj, Amboli police were informed and that the police personnel set the search operation in motion by passing information to other police stations. Chandramani also explained that although they traced the spot with help from the location of the instagram message and went there, Shobhit was not found.

The colleagues were called by the police over phone on April 3 and took them to the same spot which they had searched earlier, where a decomposed body was shown. Chandramani said that the identity of the deceased was established and blamed Shobhit's lover and her friends as having been responsible for his death, and charged the police of delaying registration of first information report by a week although there were enough evidences against the culprits.

In a suicide note he left behind, Shobhit claimed that his lover had begun to roam around with another boy and had developed relationship with him. "After seeing them, I told her that I would inform her parents at which she and her friend threatened to register rape case against me. I love her a lot, and I wanted to live with her all this life. But I find it impossible. Hence I am going for ever. Please excuse me," he mentioned in the note.

Police inspector, Bharat Gaekwad, said that a first information report has been registered against the lover of the deceased and her friends, and investigation is in progress.
