Mangaluru: Catholic Sabha Fajir celebrates Easter in unique way

Mangaluru, Apr 22: Members of Catholic Sabha Fajir unit visited Kanachur Hospital Deralakatte and distributed breakfast and fruits for 370 patients and celebrated Easter with them spreading message of love and care.

Fr Sunil Joseph Veigas, parish priest, Our Lady of Mercy Church Fajir and spiritual director, Roshan Dsouza, vice president, parish pastoral council, John Victor Mendonca, secretary, Parish Pastoral Council, Felix Dsouza, president, Deanery Catholic Sabha, Dr Nazir Hussain, Sharadha, Nursing Superintendent, Alwyn Dsouza, president, Ullal Zone Congress Minority, Franki Francis Cutinha , president, DK Govt Employees Association D Group, Bro Lanson Pinto, Hilary Dsouza, president, Catholic Sabha Fajir and Vinitha Lobo, secretary, Catholic Sabha, Fajir were present.

Hilary Dsouza had a plan to celebrate Easter with poor people. Later discussing with parish priest met Dr Rohan Monis, Chief Medical Administrative Officer of Kanachur Hospital. He was very much instrumental in organising the programme. So on Easter, soon after the Mass Catholic Sabha members along with parish priest and parishioners visited hospital. In the beginning breakfast was served, and later fruits were distributed among 370 patients spread over four floors of the hospital. Members spoke to them very friendly and they could notice smile upon their faces. Fr Sunil made special prayers in ICU and prayed for their speedy recovery.

A small stage programme was held at the hospital auditorium to spread Easter message. All d dignitaries spoke on the occasion. Hilary Dsouza welcomed the gathering, Vinitha Lobo conveyed vote of thanks and Preetham Noronha compered the programme. Special thanks was conveyed to Haji UK Monu, chairman of Kanachur Hospital, Abdul Rehman, director of hospital and Dr Rohan Monis, chief medical administrative officer, Kanachur Hospital and Research Centre.
