Shivamogga: Private bus tumbles - three die, over eight injured

Shivamogga, Apr 19: A private bus tumbled at Ullur Cross in Sagar taluk of the district in the early hours of Thursday April 18. In this accident, three persons including a mother-daughter duo lost their lives instantly.

Those who lost their lives have been identified as Sujata (40), resident of Karkee in Honnavar taluk, her daughter, Keertana (12), and Muhammed Yaseen (16), resident of Palavvanahalli in Hiriyur taluk, Chitradurga district. Over eight passengers were injured in this accident.

The bus was moving to Bengaluru from Honnavar, when its driver lost control over the vehicle near Ullur Cross. The injured were admitted into hospitals in Sagar and Shivamogga.

A report about the accident was filed in Sagar rural police station. It is learnt that bags containing areca nut and clothes were found to have been stuffed in the back of the bus.
