Gadag: Facebook love claims life of girl aspiring to become engineer

Daijiworld Media Network - Gadag (SP)

Gadag, Apr 18: A girl from Hudco Extension in the town, who was on way to become an engineer, was robbed of her life on account of Facebook love.

The girl who chose to end her life was Sphoorti (19) from here. She was in the second semester of engineering degree course. It is said that Facebook love was the reason for her decision to kill herself. At the same time, it is gathered that she used to try to instil sense in young boys and girls who were in love, against falling prey to concepts like love immaturely, to become practical, and to concentrate on meeting immediate goals like education and employment first.

Sphoorti came in contact with Chaitanya from Gudur in Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh, by chance. She had liked a photo Chaitanya had posted on Facebook. The two began coming closer to each other after they began messaging to each other. The initial friendship paved way for love. Chaitanya, in his Facebook profile, had claimed himself to be a railway employee. The two were in love with each other since about a year.

Chaitanya had once escorted Sphoorti to his hometown. During this period, he pointed out to a residential complex there belonging to someone else, and claimed that it belonged to his family. Sphoorti reposed faith on whatever he said. But after this visit to Gudur, Chaitanya began to behave strangely. It is said that he used to get calls from his wife frequently. Sphoorti got suspicious about his background and questioned him, but Chaitanya failed to provide convincing answers to her questions.

A week after she returned from Gudur, Sphoorti came to know that Chaitanya was already married and has two children. His behaviour towards her underwent changes, and he did not properly converse with her even when she called him. Frustrated by this, Sphoorti committed suicide at her home when no one was around, on April 4.

Before that, Sphoorti had revealed to her parents about her love story that had gone awry and abruptly ended, in addition to revealing to them that she had become a victim of deception. The realisation that she had been duped by the person whom she trusted the most had psychologically drained her. Unable to bear this agony, she committed suicide.

A case relating to this suicide stands lodged in the town police station here. The police have taken Chaitanya into custody. Parents of the girl are determined to ensure that the man who misled their daughter and is responsible for her death has to be punished.

Sphoorti is the cause of her own death by suicide. How can she get close to that married man with children just on Facebook. She should have seen the background of that man and his family before thinking of marriage. RIP.

Hey, 15Lakhs, its a High Court order in Madras. Modi has nothing to do with banning Tik Tok. He married and abandoned his wife. She still prays for him, a strong lady, did not commit suicide.

He sure is a good minister. but i need to understand your THOUGH PROCESS.
    SAVED A GENERATION ??
from tik tok?? that app is a musical funny app.nothing more nothing less.
Our youth has bigger problems to worry about . which they need to be SAVED from. Unemployement, high college and tuition fees, religious , colour, and location intolerance, attacks on women, opportunities to live a successful and free life..
A musical app is the least of their problems.

Love and infatuation are two separate faces of suffering and uneasiness. But people getting frustrated more in infatuation not in love. She deserted her parents love cause of her infatuation towards that boy. In this modern world we see drastic gap between parents and children, lack of communication and proper educationfrom the parents to thier teenage children leads these kind of incidents.
When we say RIP we think about this....not before..

Cynthi kirem, you are right. One side Face book is a open book.My children too adviced me not to do .(They themselves have an account)other side most of people chat over this account.and is not possible when others dont have my account. But I am not sad.It is not a must. Many people got cheated through this, who show quite different fotos ,make themselves young toomostly men.Sad this girl got into this net tangled and now lost her life.Girls too I would advice ,once they come to know that boys cheated them ,is not a cause to commit suecide.Afterall they didnt cheat boys but boy.such creatures are not honest and not worth of being their future family.Thatswhy once you know it,kick them out of your mind and save your love to a better honest person,or invest your time to persons who are deprived of love.

This is not even about love . This is a truth in our social world. being fooled happens in every scenario. By relatives, in school, college, at work place. We all have experienced that. One person seems kind. turns out to be a mean bad person who secretly wants you to suffer. Such kind of people will be there every where throughout life. The job we can do in family, is instead of hiding girls , give them a mind to stand strong in this world. teach them to be tough and not naive. teach put boys to be kinder. We all need to be kind and smart both equally to survive in this world. irrespective of gender.
