34 other businessmen too have fled India along with Nirav and Mallya: ED

Daijiworld Media Network

New Delhi, Apr 16: The Enforcement Directorate on Moday told a special judge that apart from Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi, 34 other businessmen who had criminal cases against them too have fled the country.

Special public prosecutors D P Singh and N K Matta of ED, opposing the bal plea of Sushen Mohan Gupta, alleged defence agent arrested in the AgustaWestland VVIP choppers scam, told judge Arvind Kumar that "Mallya, Lalit Modi, Nirav Modi, Mehul Choksi and Sandesara brothers (Sterling Biotech Ltd promoters) had deeper routes in the society yet they left the country. There are such 36 businessmen who fled from the country in the last few years."

Vijay Mallya and Nirav Modi

During the argument, ED's advocate Samvedna Verma told the court that the probe was at a crucial stage and the agency was trying to find out who was "RG" referred in the diaries of Sushen. Verma also accused Gupta of influencing the witnesses in the case and told the court that he also tried to destroy the evidence in the case.

The court reserved order on Gupta's bail application for April 20. Gupta has sought the relief on the ground that the agency has already completed the investigation and filed a charge sheet in the case.

In his bail application, the accused told the court that the ED's contention of the flight risk can be rejected considering his past activities, where he joined the investigation as and when summoned.

Gupta was arrested by the agency under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The ED officials said Gupta's role in the case came to light on the basis of disclosures made by Rajiv Saxena, who has turned approver in the case after he was deported from the UAE and arrested by the agency here.

It is suspected that Gupta has in his possession some payment details in the Rs 3,600 crore purchase deal of AgustaWestland VVIP choppers and the link is to be unravelled, they said.

These 34 are only the biggest sharks; what about the 1000s of mid & small sized fishes who gobbled 100 crore & less of innocent people's money! Stock market is filled with umpteen stories of such fishes, but no mention anywhere for obvious reasons as our regulators are only for "name sake" !!

Let us also know how much commission has been taken by BJP to make them run.....????? RBI gives details of such fraudsters to the government, and the Government instead of arresting them makes them go out of country by taking money from them.

What's the use of Chaukidhar, if so many can steal under his nose and easily run away?
What's the use of securitymen if others attack the Minister and run away?
Under able leader, no one should dare to steal, even if they steal, they should have been caught, here they not only stole but ran away also. Useless Chaukidhar 😀

Sid, The robbers who ran away were cronies and friends of Modi. They were exaulted and praised by MOdi who took them to Devos and mehul Choksi was actually called Mehul Bhai and praised by Feku.. Whereas Vadra is very much in India and Feku cannot do anything at all. No Black money no mehul Choksi , No Nirav modi, No Lalithj Modi, No Mallya nothing all Bakwas.. nothing to show at the end of 5 years,,, Only Foreign tours and Escorted the modis and the Choksis out from India. Passage away from India . What a escape to victory for the Gujju Chors...Why no raid on Amith shahs son Jay Shah

Why aren't the details confiscated and made public ? Is Modi afraid that his attempt to source evidence for the amount to have paid to Sonia Gandhi will be futile ? If nothing comes out as to have paid her, his hardwork of five years will be drowned in Ganga ??

Is he waiting for the election season to pass so that he will be elected and then even if it proves her non-involvement it doesn't matter because his rule for another five years is sealed anyway ???
