Kuwait: Ladies Cricket League Season one held

Kuwait, Apr 15: The much awaited Ladies Cricket League Season 1 organized by LCL Committee held at Agility ground Kuwait turned to be a motivational and inspiration to many Ladies & family members.5 teams Abbasiya Friends, Canara XI, Lourdes, Swak, and Queens XI, participated in this ladies tournament with registration of 70 players.

In the final match team Lourdes won the toss and elected to bat scoring 47 runs for 6 wickets in 5 overs. Team Swak did not let down their mentor in spite of their bad start at the tournament & scored 48 runs for one wicket in 3.2 overs and became winners of LCL Season1 tournament lead by their Capt Rosita Fernandez. Lourdes became the runner-up and Abbasiya Friends as 2nd runner-up.



Glenda Menezes from Queens XI team who played an extraordinary knock with 193 runs with 2 half centuries 3 wickets in 4 matches was declared the best batsman and player of the series.

Flavia D’Mello from Lourdes team was declared best bowler with 8 wickets in her basket.

LCL committee conveyed their appreciation to the co-sponsor of the event Avanti Palace, Dewalt and Events Q8 for their trust and support to materialize this event.

LC committee also thanked Alban (SWAK president) for capturing the complete event, Varun for hosting the tournament and live commentary, umpires Antony Fernandez, Malcolm Menezes, Antoni Barretto and Vijay Fernandez.

Guest of honour for the events were Fr Balany Pinto (Salmiya parish priest), Maria Rina D’souza (KCWA president), Mariam Hyder and Amna Sheriff (Kuwait National Team).

LCL committee member announced that they will come up with a mega tournament mid of summer 2019.
