Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Apr 14: In a tragic news, foodie Nikhil Pai of The 3 Hungry Men fame committed suicide on the night of Saturday April 13. He was 28.

Police sources said that Nikhil ended his life by consuming rat poison.

The exact reason for taking the extreme step is not yet known. However, police said that on Saturday April 13, he had a quarrel with his mother, after which he left from home. When he did not return, his family filed a missing complaint on Sunday morning.

Upon conducting a search, he was found dead in his apartment at Malemar on Sunday, sources said.

Co-founder of The 3 Hungry Men along with his friend Colin, Nikhil had earned much appreciation from foodies in Mangaluru for his reviews of restaurants in the city. His venture was Mangaluru's first food reviewing blog.

The 3 Hungry Men even appeared on national television programmes on food and travel featuring Mangaluru. The group was known for hosting food eating competitions which were immensely popular among the youth.

Apart from being an ardent foodie, Nikhil was also an amateur cartoonist. Following his father's death two years ago, he had taken up the management of Deepak Sales and Services fuel pump at Baikampady.

Nikhil is survived by his mother, wife, and his younger sister.

The body was shifted to AJ Hospital and later handed over to family.

Kavoor police have registered a case.

I am really shocked to hear this sad news. I know him for more than 8 years.
He was such a good guy and mingles a lot and also very talented person especially drawing and conducting MC in events. We used to go out together, watch movies, participate in events, have food etc.
But this is very shocking . I don't know what to say... May his soul Rest in Peace .
    We miss you Nikhil. ☹

What ???? You won't let your mother have one fight with you ?? Can't she have her say sometimes ??? You may have had thousands of fights with her, what if she were to commit suicide over the first fight ?? Do you expect her to be some playdough that can be pulled in any direction ???

    Total injustice !

    RIP !

What are you commenting here about?

Do you know about their family history or his point of view??? You passed a comment as if he were some control freak and what not?

Of course, his methods were wrong and it is really unfortunate.

But think again next time before simply accusing people. Unless you know them personally, dont comment from the comfort of your armchair and home.

    Regards.
