Udupi: Participation in CM's consultation programme at Karkala - head teacher suspended

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi (JHB/SP)

Udupi, Apr 12: A consultation programme in the presence of the chief minister was held at Karkala on April 7. JD(S) candidate for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency, Pramod Madhwaraj, and others had participated in the programme.

A person had approached the concerned with a request to providing opportunity to Dalits on contract basis for distributing DC Manna land of which survey has already been completed. He also had pleaded for providing grants for self employment schemes.

Upon verification of the background of this individual, it was found that he happens to be Sundar, head teacher of the government model higher primary school at Kodavoor in the district.

Election model code of conduct has been in force in the district since March 10, 2019. During this period, government servants are barred from officially taking part in any of the political campaigns, meetings, functions, programmes etc.

As Sundar is found to have taken part in a campaign meeting with political intentions when election code of conduct was in force, delivered speech, took part in campaign and violated model code of conduct, he has been suspended from service with immediate effect under People's Representatives Act, said deputy commissioner of the district and district election officer, Hephsiba Rani Korlapati.

If model code of conduct are violated common man is suspended. But when the politicians are violating, and mainly our FEKU in all means there is only cautions given but no suspensions.

Why cant they suspend the politician who ever he is. Coz each rally they violate the code of conduct and nothing is done, be it bribery to voters, film release , TV channel, . . . . .
