Mangaluru: Police bust prostitution racket – arrest 2, rescue 3 women

Mangaluru Apr 3: The economic and narcotic crime police in city on Wednesday April 3, busted a prostitution racket in an in Nanthoor.

The police, who received definite information about prostitution racket which was being operated through website, raided the apartment. They arrested 2 persons and rescued 3 women from Uttar Pradesh and Orissa.

Arrested has been identified as Ivan Cyril Pinto alias Pawan (35) resident of Modankap and Sathish Acharya (31) resident of Yeyyadi.

Star Legacy Apartment is the place where the racket was busted.

The accused were using a website through which they were uploading pictures of girls to invite the customers for prostitution.

Mobile phones and Rs 23,500 cash were confiscated from them.

The economic and narcotic crime police inspector Ramakrishna K K and other police personnel were part of this operation.

    If Police willing , they can curtail all most all crimes but they reluctant to do it, provided they do it when some bribe is stopped or not paid in time or better payment is offered by the said business competitors or there is huge public pressure or poor man is involved or on some directions from their higher authority or to get some due promotion or to fulfil their monthly case registration data.

    However there are some upright & duty bound Police officers, who are to be saluted for their dedication and sincerity.
