Mangaluru: Youth drowns in corporation swimming pool

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Mar 25: Yajnesh (19) from Jodukatte, Maroli here, who had visited the city corporation's swimming pool near Ladyhill here on Sunday March 24, drowned and lost his life. This tragic incident happened at about 5.15 pm.

It is gathered that Yajnesh, who had completed ITI diploma course and was not employed, had visited the pool in the company of a few of his friends on Sunday evening. He and his companions entered the pool area by buying tickets. Regular swimmers and those getting training for events get passes at the pool. Although there are trainers around the pool, they usually do not cater to those who visit the pool by buying tickets as normally such people already know swimming.

The swimming pool has recently been renovated and for the purpose it had been closed for about three months. Yajnesh happens to be the second victim to have lost life at this pool. During October 2013, a student from Boloor, Sohan, had drowned at this pool.

Manager of the pool, Ramesh, said that the teenager turned sick within minutes since he went for swimming and was seen holding on to the rod nearby. He was immediately brought out and provided first aid, after which his parents were alerted, he revealed. Ramesh also stated that the friends of the youth immediately took him to the hospital.

A case of unnatural death stands registered in Barke police station here relating to this incident.

I dont belive complaining to life guards
They are always in alert, i was a frequent visitor and seen the way they are managing. In crowded days, ticket collector also use to roam around the pool area.
We the visitors had to take care our self as their is a separation after 4 feet.
If we are not sure that we can swim we would restrict ourself to cross beyond the same.

Human life does not have any value in India since ever.
Accidental deaths are common on road..
Killing human for an animal is also OK in India..
Repeated death of Electricity power supply personnel is also OK..

Frankly speaking, no politicians care for your death.
Above all INDIANS are not worried about their own life.

They have life guard's but it's pool is overcrowded... I went twice to this pool...for two or three guard's controlling 50 odd swimmers is very difficult. Also swimmers behaviour is mischievous when they are with friends. RIP

Yes, otherwise they should limit the number of swimmers so that they can manage the people in the pool.
