Overnight millionaire: Eatery owner from Sullia wins Rs 4 crore in Kerala lottery

Daijiworld Media Network – Sullia

Sullia, Mar 24: Sometimes dreams come true when they are least expected. The life of a small eatery owner from Sullia has similarly changed overnight after he won a bumper lottery of Rs 4 crore.

Sudhama B Maniyani, the 51-year-old owner of a small restaurant called Hotel Nidheesh in Sullia had been trying his luck with the lottery for the last four years. And this time, fortune favoured him, and how!

On March 1, he had bought three Kerala State Lottery tickets of Summer Bumper Draw in Kasargod while on a visit to the town, each ticket costing him Rs 150.

Maniyani says that in the days that followed, he literally forgot about the tickets, and even when the results of the lottery were announced, he did not really bother as he never expected to win anything, let alone the jackpot.

But then, he heard that someone from Sullia had won the bumper prize, and as it turned out, it was Maniyani's lucky ticket that had won, bearing the number SB 131399.

Maniyani, who hails from Kasargod, has been living in Kanthamangala in Sullia ever since his parents migrated to another state long ago. He opened Hotel Nidheesh about 20 years ago, after initially running a small hotel business in Adyanadka village.

He is married to Prabhavati and the couple has three children - Nidhesh, Sharath and Manvith.

Asked what he plans to do with the prize money, Maniyani said his priority would be to utilize the money for the education of his three children.

Militi zindagi kisike kaam aane keliye
Waqt beet raha hai, kagaz ke tukde kamane keliye
Kya koroge itna paisa kamakar ?
Na kafan me jeb hai, na kabr me almeiri
Aur ye maut ki pariste riswat bhi nai lete.

Life was given to everyone to help each other
Time is spent, just to earn some piece of paper
What will you do after earning so much money ?
Neither Shroud have pocket, nor grave have almeira
And the angels of death, never even take bribe,

The technical definition of "millionaire" is a person with a net worth greater than $1 million U.S. dollars. However, in Indian standard, this 4 crore also is a big amount. Congratulations and best wishes for this person. Hope as suggested by many, he uses the money judiciously

Are you in 1919 or 2019 ? In 2019, you require at least 200 crores to start a modest 5 star hotel.
In addition to this, you require land in a prominent place.

Open two more hotels by name Hotel Sharath and Hotel Manvith having cost low so can able to accomodate easily by poor people. Keep less margin and do it as a social work. Assets forever remains with you and can even gain some money from two hotels for future project. Lottery itself is an risky way of earning money where in more of people loss there hard earned money. Should not fall into such things to become millionaire overnight. Be happy with whatever you had with and try to live a decent life. Sometimes I see people earning few...but enjoying much with family people. Once a while somebody hit the jackpot. What's in your fate automatically able to get. Heard in gulf people play thailand lottery...in which many people loss there money. Do your whatever work sincerely and earn it will last forever...and moreover will have satisfaction.

@Cynthi Kirem, dear Cynthi, you need not wait for a lotterie.instead be happy with what you have. They say Money that comes with lotterie is like a flood .It comes with a large force, and when it goes takes it what it had.Of course one can do when one gets .Everyone wish to get such money. For a poor and needy it is a blessing. Many times it can also a tempting attempt in invest many luxury.Thatswhy one should be careful when using..carefull invest is best way. Many might get threat from wrong friends.so normal life with less money too is more happier than crores which come all of a sudden.
