Rahul slams Javadekar for restricting PhD topics

New Delhi, March 24 (IANS): Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Sunday slammed Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar over a circular issued by his Ministry asking all departments to prepare "a shelf of projects" in line with "national priorities" for PhD scholars.

"Now, self-attested wise minister (Javadekar) of over intelligent Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) will tell the intellectuals of the country how should they do their work. It is perfectly said that a little knowledge is a dangerous thing," Gandhi wrote on his Facebook account.

The Congress President posted a picture of Javadekar below his comment and also pasted a website link of an article published in a newspaper on Sunday carrying headline "HRD says PhDs only on 'national priority' topics, Kerala Prof quits".

According to the article, Meena T. Pillai, a member of the Board of Studies of English and Comparative Literature at the Central University of Kerala, resigned in protest against the administration's order asking all departments to prepare "a shelf of projects" in line with "national priorities" for PhD scholars.

The directive came on March 13, said the article, adding that the circular was issued at the behest of the HRD Ministry, which, at a meeting of vice-chancellors of central universities in December, had asked the VCs to "discourage research in irrelevant areas".

    Dear PhD aspirants,
Henceforth please submit your Thesis on National Priority topics, for example, research on cow bhakthi, Hindutva, saffronization, fekuism.
Unfortunately, they couldn't stop Kanaiyah taking PhD. They tried their best to stop him. But he is like a fire and they knew touching him will burn them.
Again and again Feku proved that, he has a big bunch of jokers in his gang. One among is this Joker Javdekar. He talks less and laughs more like a circus joker.
That is why I always tell, education is very important to become a real leader. Or else you will lead the country to disaster like Feku Modi.
    God save PhD walas.

Unbelievable and totally ridiculous. This proves very very clearly and loudly that Modi led BJP has made the country bankrupt and can not afford to support students in higher studies of research and innovations.

This kind of thinking was there neither Aryabhata would have been recognized in the ancient times itself. To understand the importance of Value Zero, was not necessary then, life was going on without knowing it also.

It is high time to let BJP leaders to send them to their preferred chowkidari job and also let them know of the buildings where such opening is coming up.
