Puttur: V Swim and PAC to hold Summer Swimming Camp from Apr 2 to Jun 4

Puttur, Mar 24: Varanashi Swimming Academy (V Swim ) in association with members of Puttur Aquatic Club (PAC) will conduct its yearly Summer Swimming Camp at Dr Shivarama Karantha Balawana Swimming Pool from April 2 to June 4.

Each Swimming batch will have 18 classes with each class covering a period of 50 minutes. The first batch is from April 2 to 23. Second batch is from April 24 to May 14. Final batch is from May 15 to June 4. Seven days of free swim will be allotted to every swimmer which they can access from June 1 onwards till September 30.

Swimming classes starts as early as 6.30 am and covers right up to 6 pm in the evening. There is a batch exclusively for ladies and children below 14, between 3 pm to 3.50 pm. Kids as young as 3.5 years are taught in a separate baby pool.

Balawana Swimming pool has 16 Austswim (Australia's Accredited Swim Schools) trained swim teachers who have undergone training to teach Swimming in a methodological way. A specific swim curriculum will be followed by these swim teachers where Swimming will be taught in a progressive manner.

Dr Shivarama Karantha Swimming pool has a well equipped and modern filtration unit which provides clean and hygienic water with a balanced pH value too. Easily considered as one of the best maintained pools of Dakshina Kannada and also reputed for its high quality of teaching methods.

Swimming for 30 minutes a day improves memory and cognitive thinking

Research has shown that while swimming brain produces hormones such as Endorphins, seratonin and dopamine. This regenerates brain cells in a process called hippocampal neurogenesis is a unique form of neural circuit plasticity that results in the generation of new neurons. This helps memory power, concentration and thinking capacity.

Swimming 30 minutes a day also helps in anti aging. If you swim regularly between the age of 6years to 14 years your heart will function 30% more efficiently and heart problem at later age will not occur. Swimming is also great way to maintain body weight and muscle memory. To top it swimming is also a life skill and saves lives.

Summer camps like these in April and May and Dasara camps in October have provided swim training to thousands of people of Puttur and Dakshina Kannada over the years. Swimming is considered to be the King of Sports. It not only improves the physical health of human beings but also improves the functioning of the brain and produces new brain cells.
