Mangaluru: Valedictory of ‘Impressions 2k19’ held at Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences

Mangaluru Mar 23: The valedictory ceremony of 'Impressions 2k19’ was held at Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences Mukka, Surathkal on Saturday, March 23.

Addressing the gathering, Dr A Srinivas Rao, pro-chancellor Srinivas University said, "The atmosphere here at ‘Impression 2k19’ looks so vibrant. It looks good to see students participating with great passion in this event. The entire programme was really impressive.”

While Poornima bagged the champion’s award among girls, Tom Thampi bagged the champion’s award among boys. The overall team champion award was bagged by team Ravenclaws.



Dean Prof Dr Manoj Varma welcomed the gathering, President student council Tom Thampi rendered the vote of thanks.

The formal function was followed by a cultural event.

Trustee member board of governors Srinivas University Mithra S Rao, Associate dean Lavanya Varma, and general secretary student council Riyana D’Souza were present.

About Impressions 2k19

Impressions 2k19 extravaganza was inaugurated on March 11 during which the banners of all the six teams were unveiled by dean Prof Dr Manoj Varma and balloons were released as a sign of commencement of the annual fest. Each of the six teams showcased a glimpse of their energy and excitement in the form of flash mob. The sports week began with the indoor games like table tennis, carrom, chess and outdoor events like football, volleyball, throwball, dodge ball, cricket and kabaddi for women. Badminton match was enjoyed by all and the crowd was very engaged and enthusiastic. The sports meet was inaugurated by Dr Sham Kishore, principal of Allied Sciences by releasing the balloons followed by march fast and track and field events consisting of relay, long jump, and various other events.

Soon after the sports meet, the most awaited cultural week began with Rose day which included events such as flower arrangement, funk from junk, vision art, soap carving. The second day of the cultural event was chocolate day which consisted of events like eating competition, nail art, and pencil sketching. The third day of cultural event was The Squad/Twin day where in everyone had an opportunity to match their outfits with their friends. This day included events such as Wordsworth, hairstyling, mime, treasure hunt.

Traditional day was also held with events such as Funtakshari, Eastern singing, and Eastern dancing. The upcoming events include fuse it if you can, Western singing, Western dancing, spot dance followed by the final event of the cultural event which consists of programmes such as Fashion show, Lens your sense, Shooting it right.
