‘Will contest Panaji seat if party decides’

Panaji, Mar 22 (TOI): State Congress president Girish Chodankar said that he was willing to contest the Panaji by-elections if the party’s central leadership decides that he was the best bet for the seat.

Chodankar said that the process to decide on a candidate for the Panaji seat, which fell vacant after the death of former chief minister Manohar Parrikar, had yet to begin.

“I am a frontier soldier. If the party tells me (to contest the Panaji by-elections) I will do so,” he said.
