Mangaluru: Digital tax collection center opened at Valencia

Mangaluru, Mar 22: A digital tax collection center was inaugurated jointly by Mangaluru City Corporation and ICICI bank here on Thursday, March 21.

The center was opened in the bank’s extension counter at the corporation office in Valencia here. Citizens are able to pay more than twenty varieties of taxes including water bills, trade licence fees by cash, demand draft or digital modes like debit card or credit cards here.

The bank is the first to have started facilities to receive digital payments in the state.

The computer here is coordinated to the point of sale machine of MCC server. It automatically directs the transaction to the particular account and receives the payment. Then a receipt is issued. It will be a convenient one stop solution for tax payers by creating e channels enabling direct payments to MCC.

Mohammed Nazeer of the corporation has commended the service of the private sector bank taking up the operation.
