Bengaluru, Mar 21: The Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) examinations began from Thursday March 21 across the state.

The examinations began with the first language paper from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm. This year, over 8.41 lac students are appearing for the exams which will be held at 2,847 centers. The exams will conclude on April 4.

The Karnataka Education Examination Board (KSEEB) has taken all security measures to conduct the exams without any hurdles. The board has strictly banned smart watches and mobile phones.

Bantwal, Mar 21: A festival atmosphere has been created in 17 examination centers in Bantwal taluk. Teachers have decorated these centers with welcome arc, lined up decorations and colourful banners to attract students writing SSLC examinations.

SSLC examinations will begin in the state from today. The festival atmosphere is created in the centers in order to make students write the examinations without fear.

All the preparations are completed as per instructions from Karnataka secondary education examination board.

5,625 students are writing SSLC examinations in 17 examination centers in Bantwal. Each center has a chief inspector and nine assistant chief inspectors. Seventeen custodians and 350 hall supervisors are appointed. 25 local guards will keep an eye in the taluk.

Seating arrangements, drinking water and toilets are arranged in the examination centers. Section 144, police security, electricity, CC camera and medical facilities are provided through ANMs of local primary health centers.

Chief inspector is given suitable guidance to prevent malpractices and disciplinary action to be taken during such instances.

The examinations will be held from 9.30 am. The examinations in Kannada will be held on March 21, Mathematics on March 25, English on March 27, Social science on March 29, Science on April 2 and Hindi on April 4.

    A piece of advice to parents. Don't force your children to get 90% and above. Please don't compare your children with your neighbours children. Instead motivate them and discuss with them what stream they want to study and counsel them on what they have to do to enter that stream.

    A piece of advice to students. Don't be afraid and done ever under estimate yourselves. Go into the hall atleast ten minutes prior and relax your mind. Always remember, don't fall into pressure and learn to face life however it is and whatever it is. If you excel great and if you fail, that's another learning opportunity. Try again and try again. Don't give up.

    Good Luck guys...But Really worried about their future..8.41 lac students..Once they complete all their studies will they able to get prefered job which they studied??? Now itself there is unemployment in youths..Indian govt should think about it at least now!..Or Else it will be really difficult to handle the situation later.

    This is the real story of Bihar, told to my son by a Bihari.

    Every year at SSLC exam, there is ramphant copying in Bihar. In one town, a very strict Education officer who hailed from South, came and he made arrangements to stop this practice. Near this Bihari's house, there was an exam centre and near the cenre there was a big bldg. when the question papers were given to examinees, from top of the adjacent bldg, by a loudspeaker, one by one question was read out and then answer. This happened on all days. When it came to the notice of Education Officer, he complained to police to arrest people who were on top of the bldg, but, police did not want to change the practice in Bihar.

    Karnataka is good and most of our youth get jobs. My best wishes to our students.
