Bengaluru, Mar 20: “BJP and their IT cell are experts in twisting the truth. My statement that coastal Karnataka is a model to the whole country of India, when it comes to education and intellect is twisted by BJP,” clarified CM H D Kumarawamy through his Twitter account.

The CM Tweeted, “No one can beat BJP and their IT cell in twisting the truth. They have once again proved the same. I have never told that the people of coastal Karnataka are not brilliant. In education and intellect they are model to the whole country. BJP is trying to mislead people by lying.”

MLA and BJP leader C T Ravi, who had reacted to the earlier statement of the CM, had tweeted, “These kind of statements by the chief minister will hurt the feelings of the people of the coastal region of the state. It is a tragedy that these kind of narrow-minded leaders are ruling our state. You are not the leader of JD (S) alone. Kumaraswamy has to remind himself that he is the chief minister of the state. This private political party is limited to only certain districts of the state.”

What did the CM say?

During his speech in Bengaluru on Monday, March 18, Kumaraswamy had said, “The people of the coastal region of Karnataka, including Udupi, Karkala and Kaup do not have understanding. The people of that region only vote for BJP. The people of Udupi, Brahmavar, Kaup and Karkal, who make the BJP win, need Kumaraswamy and Revanna when they want to build schools and colleges.”

People of coast express rage against CM on social media

The coastal Karnataka people, who got irated because of the statement given by the CM, took to the social media and express their rage by saying,”Because we are intelligent, we do not patronize family politics. When you were CM earlier, how much you have given to the coastal districts? We know, how much you have given for the coastal region in the recent budget that was presented by you. Because we understand things, we vote BJP. We understand issues, that is why we will not vote family politics.”
