Moodbidri, Mar 20: "Being educated is enough to live a life, but culture along with education is important to lead a meaningful life," said Kudhi Vasanth Shetty, national Best Teacher awardee, at Alva's College day celebration at Nudisiri hall.
"The man who makes no mistakes would achieve nothing. One must always learn from his mistakes to be a better person. Men may be cruel, but man is kind. There is always some goodness in him. We cannot generalize his/ her individual character in group behavior. Science and experiments cannot explain power. Vibration in nature is a true power which helps us achieve goals," he said.
Dr M Mohan Alva, chairperson of Alva’s College addressed the students in the occasion and said, "Getting a degree is very much important in this competitive world. One must have clarity in choosing the stream of education and final outcome of the course. It is also important to secure students' life and enable them to stand on their own feet by utilizing the opportunities given to them."
The guest felicitated 49 rank holders, 27 cultural achievers, 35 sports achievers, one best library user and eight faculty achievers on the occasion by offering momentos and certificates along with cash prizes. The students of the college showcased their cultural extravaganza after the formal function.
Alva's college principal, Dr Kurian, managing trustee Vivek Alva and faculty were present among others.
