Puttur: Act of communal harmony - Muslims help marry off financially poor Hindu girl

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Mar 19: In an exemplary act of communal harmony, people of Muslim community, neighbours of a financially poor Hindu family, took the onus of the marriage of their daughter. This display of humanity coupled with social harmony occurred from Karuvelu of Uppinangady near here on Monday, March 18.

Revati, who belongs to a financially poor family, works in a factory. She was in love with Sharat, a resident of Salmara. However, Revati’s parents did not have the financial capacity to get her married. Under these circumstances, the people who rushed to their help were their Muslim neighbours.

The Muslim neighbours spoke to the boy’s family on behalf of the girl and fixed the date for marriage. There were some relatives of the girl who joined them during the preparations for the marriage. They brought the leaf of palm trees and built a pandal. The bride was decorated with all the ornaments and dress as per the Hindu tradition in the house of person called Latif. All the marriage rites were conducted as per the Hindu tradition. Dinner for 150 people was served as a part of the marriage celebration.

All the expenses of marriage including that of Mangalasutra and two sets of dress for the bride were borne by Latif, K Aboobacker, owner of Niha Dresses, Shameer, Puttumonu and others.

This generous act of the Muslim community, which brought light in the life of a Hindu girl is being lauded by everyone.

Bhakts are now confused on how to react to this. They hate harmony, peace, love and brotherhood. Wont be surprised if a new theory is brought in that such help had political agenda behind it. Bhakts only see negativity as they have their heads filled with Gobar.

Good heartened people will never see the religion, they only see the humanity. See in the case of Premji of WIPRO a Muslim industrialist how generously donated several thousand crores of rupees to the charity.
Society should love such people and not the people who spread hatred among community and propagating themselves great patriots of the Nation.

God bless you people. We are a very interesting yet commendable country. Our love for eachother is as passionate as hate for eachother. We rally around eachother when external forces threatens us and do the battle cry when it comes to differences between us.

God bless us all. These random acts of kindness and brotherhood is what India is all about. Jai Hind.

It's all about helping neighbors. If the neighbor's are struggling , then helping them is the best act. It's always good to help neighbors. And they are the one's we see daily face to face other than family members.

If we were to invest our time in making consistent and small gestures at a community level and reaching out to our neighbors regardless of their religion or ethnicity, we could achieve a remarkably positive impact on our communities .

Showing kindness and generosity to our neighbors is a virtuous deed that does not require much time or effort.

Many of us are out there trying to save the world, when in reality we don’t even know our own neighbors. There are people around the world who are going through challenges, and whilst we can only do so much – it is important to remember that you can make a change in your locality.

For those who are reading this comments/article, why dont we take small opportunity today and help neighbors in any small act today itself.

This act of kindness, love, and compassion without any religious divide is a good lesson for those 'Moral police' spreading hatred.
I wish the new couples 'A happy married life' and appreciate the good work of the Muslim community when the nation is passing through a difficult time.

Keep up the good works brothers, a big salute to you all.

When i was child I know a few girls who got married late just because their parents did not have enough money. However, their father had enough money to drink and come home late night.

I agree with you in your both comments.
    a. Appreciating the good work done by our brothers and saluting them.
    b. In many families, who are poor because of their father wasted money on drinks.

But at the same time, I do know many boys of next generation, became responsible and moved forward, taking care of their family and building their own family too. I am sure, Ravati will have a better life with her husband.

I have come across many muslim families who help people who are in need. They have a generous heart. Appreciate the good work done by Latif, K Aboobacker, owner of Niha Dresses, Shameer, Puttumonu and others by bearing the marriage expenses of financially poor girl Ravati. Sure you all will be blessed thousand times by Almighty God.
