Mangaluru: Attractive annual food fest 'HOG-2K19' attracts crowds at Srinivas Institute Pandeshwar

Mangaluru, Mar 19: Srinivas University College of Hotel Management & Tourism and Srinivas College of Hotel Management on March 16 organised 'HOG-2K19', annual food festival.

The festival was inaugurated by the chief guest Peter Nirmal, GM, The Gateway Hotel, Mangaluru.

Pro-chancellor, Srinivas University, Dr A Srinivas Rao presided over the function. A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, trustee–member Board of Governors, Srinivas University, here, and Prof A Mitra S Rao, trustee–member Board of Governors, Srinivas University, here, Deepak Narayan, HR manager, The Gateway Hotel, Mangaluru, were the guests of honour.



Dr Anil Kumar, registrar, Srinivas University, Dr Ajay K G, registrar (development), Srinivas University, Prof Anet Florence, dean, Srinivas University College of Hotel Management and Tourism and principals of other sister institutions were present on the occasion.

In his inaugural address, the dhief guest highlighted the importance of such events in the overall growth and development of students in the hospitality sector. The pro chancellor Dr A Srinivas Rao spoke about the benefits that accrue in the process of conducting a fest and congratulated the staff and students for hosting such a magnificent event.

The highlights of the evening were the vegetable and ice carving set up, artworks of the interior design students, foot taping music, mouth watering delicacies and cultural programmes. The live food counters attracted an active crowd numbering around 1500.

The annual food fest has been organised since 1993 to expose all the Hotel Management students to the intricacies and nitty gritties of event management. Students get to experience the various aspects of Sales & Marketing, Food Production, F&B Service, Purchasing and other Management skills.
