Anil Ambani's Reliance Communications pays Rs 458.77 crore to Ericsson: sources

New Delhi, Mar 18(PTI): Racing against time to meet the Supreme Court's deadline, Reliance Communications (RCom) has paid Rs 458.77 crore of dues to Swedish telecom equipment maker Ericsson, according to sources.

Failure to cough up the dues would have meant that RCom Chairman Anil Ambani would have faced a 3-month jail term.

Observing there was a 'wilful default', the Supreme Court last month held Ambani guilty of contempt of court and ordered the debt-laden company to clear the dues to Ericsson within four weeks or face a 3-month jail term.

A source in the know said RCom has paid Rs 458.7 crore to Ericsson as per the SC directive, but did not divulge details. However, Ericsson could not be reached for comments.

    What a joke ?
    Only 3 months for 458 crores ?
I can spend 6 months for 4 crores. Any offers from Ambani ???
Ambani shouldn't have any problem anymore to clear off all the debts as the public tax money is pouring in thru backdoor in the name of Rafale.

Even Anil Ambani would have run away from the country will all the money by chowkidaar's protection under the 'Bankrupt' title but for Rafale deal he is stuck in India. Modibaba and his 40 chors have already st up off shore empire from tax payers money and Modibaba visits frequently.

    Exactly !!!!!

If Rafale had not come out in the open, thanks to RG, Modi would have come to innocent masses agaitelling that the Black Money is on the way.

He would have behaved like the 'Cat set out on pilgrimage after devouring thousands of rats'

After De-Mo scam (demonetisation) which is the largest scam in the history of India. The BJP party, their leaders, their family and friends minted many lacs of crores and crores of rupees. I will not be surprised if one day it will come to be known that someone from the above who made a fortune from the de-mo scam would have paid that small change of 458 crore rupees and become a partner with the bankrupt Anil Ambani. No wonder Anil got the Rafael deal and now he poised to become a "contractor" for the defence of the motherland.

What a pity and what a shame that after looting the country, they are being portrayed as the "Chowkidar" (watchman). With the upcoming elections, Modi and his cronies are going to win the elections.

    (1) Source of Income ???
When we common people have to furnish details about source of even smallest investment, why the wealthy exempted from this obligation ?

    (2) Why did he file for bankruptcy if he had the capability to pay ?
