JD(S) leader Danish Ali joins BSP ahead of LS polls

Lucknow, Mar 16 (IANS): Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leader Danish Ali on Saturday joined the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party, ahead of the coming Lok Sabha elections.

Ali joined the BSP in the presence of the party's national general secretary Satish Mishra at the BSP office here.

According to BSP sources, Ali, who was considered as a top leader in former Prime Minister H.D. Devegowda party, is likely to contest from Amroha in western Uttar Pradesh.

The BSP which scored a nil in the 2014 Lok Sabha polls is contesting the general elections this time in the state in alliance with the Samajwadi Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal.

Actually this guy was put on tenterhooks by Appa-Maga party for last 5 years, every time during elections, Danish Ali's name crops up as a probable candidate but then they sell seat to rich businessmen for 20-25 crores. This may have made Ali feel let down by Kummy and he has taken plunge with BSP who are looking for winnable candidates in UP

I dont think his exit will help NDA. As someone mentioned, he just moved from one secular party to another secular party. Eventually the mahaghatabandhan is the real beneficiary of this move. Nevertheless a prized catch by BSP. Huge loss to JDS.

I was being sarcastic. But jokes apart, I wonder what motivates JDS leaders/workers. No reward for loyalty at all. Just look at cabinet formation. In the recent election, quite a few old loyal leaders lost the election. They didn't make any of them an MLC nor did they make any loyal MLC a minister.
