Bengaluru: IT sleuths seize Rs 2 crore from government official

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Income tax officials, who have kept a keen eye on illegal cash transactions ever since election dates were announced and the model code of conduct was enforced, raided the rented house of rural development and panchayat raj department accounts assistant Narayana Gowda Patil in Haveri and room at Rajamahal hotel, Bengaluru of on Friday morning.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that nearly Rs two crore was seized in the raid. It is suspected that the amount was the commission received from others.

Income tax officials have started investigations on the purpose of keeping such huge sum. Narayana Gowda is said to have fled from the hotel room during the investigations.
