Minor raped, wife forces victim to marry her husband, both arrested

Kolar, Mar 14: Police have arrested a couple who forced the victim minor girl, raped by the husband to tie the marital knot with the rapist.

This shocking incident is reported from Hunasikote village of Tekal Hobali under the limits of Malur taluk in the district. Gangaraju and his wife Pallavi, natives of Palamaneru in Andhra Pradesh are the ones arrested by the Masti police under the POCSO act, based on the complaint filed by the father of the minor girl, who was the victim of rape.

The victim used to live with Pallavi, the daughter of her maternal aunt. Pallavi is a divorcee and has married the offender Gangaraju in her second marriage. Accused Gangaraju is a native of Jedkamanapalli of Palamaneru village in Andhra Pradesh and used to work as a tractor driver in Hunasikote.

On the afternoon of March 9, he raped the victim, a minor girl. Pallavi who came to know about the incident, forced the victim to tie the knot with her husband at home itself. Later, both threatened the victim with dire consequences, if the matter is divulged to others.

Somehow, Children’s Helpline of Malur got the information of this rape. They informed the same to the police immediately. When police inquired the victim she negated the rape incident. Later personnel from Children’s helpline and a counselor from NGO counseled the victim and the minor girl confirmed the rape committed on her by Gangaraju.

Father of the victim, who came to know about the incident from the Children’s helpline registered a complaint with the police. The Masti police duly arrested the accused and produced them in the court.

    Why blame western culture, when the fault lies within? Which western culture propagates rape and subrogation of women/minors? Moreover, do think this couple from Andhra leading a subsistence life know anything about western culture?

    Strange things are going on in utter corners of India.How she can force the victim to marry the accused ,her husband?When married everything is settled and finished,such rapists will never marry victim and with marraige wishes never rapes. Horrible.Good case is filed.punish the accused ,and the wife too.
