Mangaluru: National level IT & Engineering fest ‘Epitome 2k19’ inaugurated at AIMIT

Mangaluru, Mar 14: The inauguration of 19th edition of the National Level IT & Engineering fest ‘Epitome 2k19’ was held at the School of Information Technology & Bioinformatics, Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), St Aloysius College (Autonomous), Beeri. The programme was inaugurated on the March 14, for a two-day run, scheduled in line with conducting a variety of events. Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi, co-founder, MD and CEO of Novigo Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Mangaluru was the chief guest of the programme.

Fr Denzil Lobo SJ, director of AIMIT, presided over the programme. Prof Santhosh Rebello, dean of IT department, the faculty co-ordinators, Aravind Prabhu and Manimozhi R and student co-ordinators Akash Kumbhar, Clytan, Brilita Princy Cutinha and Riona Fernandes were present.



The programme was started with invoking the presence of almighty by college choir. The trailer of the fest, Epitome 2k19 was launched. This was then followed by the ceremonious lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries. Prof Santhosh Rebello, gave a welcome note to the gathering and spoke based on the entrepreneurship. Students welcomed the dignitaries by presenting bouquet of blossomed flowers. Manimozhi R, assistant faculty coordinator of the fest, introduced the chief guest to the gathering.

The inauguration speech was delivered by the chief guest, Praveen Kumar Kalbhavi. He gave an idea of Entrepreneurship Vs Corporate World. It is the time for the students to decide their future. He also spoke about the era where there was no emails and mobile phones but where COBOL language and mainframe computers were used. It is not the marks which decides the student's future but the skills and the exposure that the gain during such fests.

Later, director of AIMIT, Fr Denzil Lobo addressed the gathering. He gave a brief information about the growth of information technology in this institution.

Towards the end, Aravind Prabhu, the faculty coordinator of the fest rendered the vote of thanks. The inaugural programme was then concluded with the college anthem.

More than 264 participants from around 22 colleges across the country participated in Epitome 2k19.
